Case Study: Servicing Sibelco Sites

SWIA Scale Servicing On The Sunshine Coast

OVERVIEW

Sensortronic Weighing and Inspection Australasia have been providing service and maintenance to the Sibelco Parkhurst site for a number of years. SWIA were engaged to maintain approximately twenty weighing machines, including bagging machines, check scales, container tilters and a weighbridge.

THE PROCESS

SWIA began by developing a service and preventative maintenance agreement. The team ensured trade verification was scheduled for the weighbridge, which is a legal requirement for all weighing equipment used for sale by weight. This provided peace of mind to management at Sibelco, who were secure in the knowledge that their equipment was accurate and compliant.

“SWIA will call to remind us that our equipment is due for a re-verification. It gives us a lot of peace of mind to know they are on top of it,” said Jason Chapman, the Electrical Maintenance Planner at Parkhurst.

The CHALLENGE

Equipment downtime means a loss in productivity which in turn becomes a loss in revenue. For Sibelco, one of the benefits of working with SWIA has been the technical team who are available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

“Equipment breakdowns do happen, and SWIA are flexible enough to meet our operational requirements. They always meet breakdown calls, even after hours,” said Jason.

With regional offices all across Queensland, SWIA have been able to get technicians on site quickly and greatly reduce equipment downtime.

OUTCOMES

  • Peace of mind knowing that all equipment is compliant and accurate.
  • Technical team available at all times in case of equipment breakdown.
  • Providing of reports on the condition of machinery after each service.

“They have a very professional service. I deal with a number of scales companies across Australia and they are by far the best. The team are very experienced. I could not ask for a better company to work with.” – Jason Chapman, Sibelco.
