Ensuring Weighbridge Stability. July 2012 Australasia Scales supplied, installed and Trade Verified a 20m x 3m above ground weighbridge at a Kingaroy Waste Transfer Station.
The fully hot dipped galvanised concrete deck infill Weighbridge is supported by 6 heavy duty CAS WBK canister type load cells, each with in-built lightning protection and IP68 rated dust and water proofing. In addition Australasia Scales also supplied & fitted two Rinstrum D740 External Remote Displays for bi-directional use of Weighbridge, and a Rinstrum R420 indicator fitted with RS485 modules to send the weight signal to the remote displays.
Soil test results indicated suitable stable founding conditions for the Weighbridge were not available in the fill soils and sub-surface refuse material – Qualified Geotechnical & Structural Engineers recommended 6m deep concrete bored piers be placed beneath each load point to ensure Weighbridge stability.
This Weighbridge is to be predominantly used as a bi-directional Weighbridge and to satisy OH & S regulations two removable galvanised walkways were supplied and fitted to ensure drivers safely exit and re-enter their vehicles whilst parked on the Weighbridge.
