December 2011 Australasia Scales supplied, installed and trade verified a 20m x 3m Above Ground Concrete Weighbridge at a Proserpine Landfill Site.
The fully hot dipped galvanised steel concrete weighbridge is supported by 6 heavy duty CAS WBK canister type load cells, each with in-built lightning protection and IP68 rated dust and water proofing.
The customer required the installation process be shortened to meet operating deadlines, so instead of using the industry standard 32mpa – 28 days curing concrete a faster setting 40mpa concrete was used to allow the Weighbridge decks to be lifted, load cells placed to the underside, electronics terminated and the Weighbridge tested & verified after just 10 days of concrete curing.
This Concrete Weighbridge is to be predominantly used as a single directional Weighbridge and to satisfy OH & S regulations a removable galvanised walkway was also required, to ensure drivers safely exit and enter their vehicles whilst parked on the Weighbridge.
